The Māwhera National Salon of Photography is organised by the Greymouth Photography Club. We are an enthusiastic club of approximately 40 members, located in Greymouth (Māwhera) on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand.

Founded on 18 February 1953, by a small group of film and still camera enthusiasts, the Greymouth Photography Club was originally known as the Greymouth Cine and Camera Club, then later (1970-2007) the Greymouth Camera Club.

2023 marked the 70th Anniversary of our club and, as part of our celebration of this significant milestone, the inaugural Māwhera National Salon of Photography was held.

We are delighted to continue offering this salon to photographers in New Zealand and PSNZ members residing overseas. It also brings a great opportunity to promote the art of photography and showcase images from the talented photographers of our country to our local community.
